The main event of this past Monday's episode of WWE RAW saw a Fatal 4-Way Match take place, where the winner was crowned the new #1 Contender to the WWE RAW Women's Championship, currently held by Bianca Belair, while the main event of this past Friday's episode of WWE SmackDown saw Riddle face Sami Zayn in Singles action, with the stipulation that if Sami wins, then Riddle is banned from the blue brand, but if Riddle wins, then he earns a shot at the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on Friday's WWE SmackDown.
