Randy Orton Reportedly Signs New Multi-Year Contract With WWE

-- It appears as if WWE has locked up one of their top veteran stars for a long time, possibly guaranteeing that he will finish his career in the company.

-- Fightfulselect.com is reporting that long-time WWE standout performer Randy Orton has re-signed a multi-year contract with the promotion. Orton initially inked a five-year contract back in 2019 that would have seen it run out at the end of 2024, however, the situation was murky after Orton was sidelined for about a year and a half with a serious neck injury, opening up the possibility that WWE could add that amount of time to his deal, taking it into 2026.

-- All that is moot now as Orton and WWE have agreed to terms on a new five-year contract that will keep him with the company through 2029, effectively replacing the existing agreement. When asked why WWE would want him to sign a new contract rather than use their rights to extend the current deal, one source had this to say:

"The guaranteed money associated with contracts now is a drastic shift from what it was in 2019. There have been changes to our live event schedule, touring, international dates, media obligations, merchandise and social media that would be much more fair to just reach a new deal in many situations."
