Report: Hulk Hogan May Have Died Due To Medical Malpractice

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan shockingly passed away last month at the age of 71. His death was ruled to be a result of cardiac arrest but a report today from TMZ suggests there are additional details that may have led to Hogan's passing.

According to the report, Hogan may have been the victim of medical malpractice and that it ultimately may have cost him his life. When law enforcement arrived at Hogan's home responding to the emergency, an occupational therapist was present and told officers that during a recent operation, the surgeon severed Hogan's phrenic nerve. It is unclear if this surgery was related to Hogan's recent heart or neck procedure.

The phrenic nerve stimulates the diaphragm which is the organ that controls breathing. Sources have told TMZ that Hogan did not have a cardiac episode before his passing, but rather stopped breathing and that led to the 911 call.

Hogan's widow, Sky, confirmed to TMZ Sports that Hulk's phrenic nerve was "compromised" during a recent surgery but that is all that is known. She also shared that while an autopsy has been completed on Hogan, he has yet to be cremated.
