-- Fightfulselect.com is now contradicting the earlier pwinsiderelite.com report noting that while discussions are ongoing, WWE sources claim that the note that the two sides are close isn't accurate and that WWE and Knight are "far apart on money" as of now. No deal has been agreed to and neither does one appear to be imminent, however, the parties have agreed to keep talking to hash something out.
-- The WWE source also chimed in one the report that a potential new contract for Knight would be tied to push by debunking that claim by pointing to the fact that a significant number of wrestlers in the company have contracts set to expire next year and they are still getting pushed. Knight's deal still has over a year and a half left on it so there is no real urgency as of yet. It also should be noted that WWE officials have seemingly put a soft pause on new signings until the company's merger with Endeavor goes through tomorrow.
