Report: The Rock Might Not Be Able To Wrestle At WrestleMania 41 Due To Schedule

-- While many believed it was a foregone conclusion that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson would be wrestling at WrestleMania 41 against either Cody Rhodes or Roman Reigns (or both), a new report emerged this week that suggests that Johnson's acting schedule could prevent him from competing at all.

-- In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that "as of now", The Rock is not scheduled for WrestleMania, citing a source who stated that "he's not going to be able to do Mania" and that he "already gave word that he wouldn't be able to do the match." While no specifics were shared, the report added that the story coming back is that Rock's schedule "got too heavy" and he was "unable to commit to doing it right."

-- Meltzer, as always, cautioned that ultimately Rock is going to do what he wants whenever he wants and that given that we are still about six months away from the event, plans could change but if it were to happen, storylines would likely need to be in place just before the Royal Rumble. Meltzer added that if Rock ever decides to do a match, he would get to decide who he wants to face with little pushback and that the only thing that would be met with opposition is if he decided he wanted to win the WWE title.
