According to The Associated Press, former WWE executive Shane McMahon attended the recent White House Correspondents’ Dinner (WHCD), where a gunman was apprehended and gunshots were reportedly heard. He was at the event with his mother, Linda McMahon, the former WWE President who currently serves as the United States Secretary of Education in President Donald Trump’s cabinet.
The report mentioned that a suspected armed man, carrying guns and knives, stormed into the lobby outside the WHCD, where President Trump was also present, on Saturday, April 25th. The gunman allegedly charged towards the ballroom, prompting Secret Service agents to intervene. Guests were seen diving under tables as shots rang out.
Fortunately, President Trump was uninjured and was quickly escorted off the stage. Officials confirmed that the armed suspect was a guest at the Washington Hilton, the venue hosting the dinner. He has been taken into custody and is scheduled to appear in court today, April 27th. Law enforcement believes the suspect acted alone and opened fire, but he has not disclosed his intended target or motive.
