Report: "Stone Cold" Steve Austin Has Been Discussed Internally For Future WWE Appearance

One of the biggest WWE stars to step into the ring could be back for an appearance soon.

A report from WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select indicates that WWE Hall of Famer "Stone Cold" Steve Austin has been internally discussed for a possible appearance in the near future. While there is no confirmation from WWE or Austin, the report notes that Stone Cold's name has been "circulating across multiple departments."

The 61-year old legend has made sporadic appearances for WWE over the years making a brief appearance at WrestleMania 41, while also being pitched to appear at WrestleMania 40 in a main event spot that ultimately went to the Undertaker after Austin declined. He has also been approached for matches against Roman Reigns over the years.

It's also not clear if Austin is being considered for this year's WrestleMania 42 or if it would be simply a brief appearance like two years ago or something that would be more involved from a storyline perspective. However, Austin has indicated that he has most likely wrestled his last match.
