Report: Tag Team Walks Out Of AEW Collision After Disagreement With Booking

There was some drama at last night's AEW Collision show when a new tag team to the promotion refused to participate in a match, leading to a last minute re-write.

PWInsider.com reported that the duo of Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize, who are a real-life couple, were booked to face and lose to Tay Melo and Anna Jay, however, before the show the team "balked" at the finish because they already suffered a loss last week in their first match with the company.

The report added that Newell and Alize walked out about an hour before the show and ended up being replaced by Hyan and Maya World. Due to the sudden, abrupt change, AEW officials were said to be appreciate of Hyan and World for stepping in as a last minute replacement and that the two of them "gained points" with officials. As for Newell and Alize, neither are believed to be under contract with Bryan Alvarez of f4wonline.com reporting that there were "issues" last week with them and there was surprise that they were even brought back for a second appearance.

Fightfulselect.com reported that Newell and Alize always expected to lose the match but took issue with the allotted time for the match - three minutes - and were subsequently told that the match length was locked in and couldn't be changed. This report added that AEW officials were "shocked" at what went down and thanked the replacements - Hyan and World - for their professionalism.

This report also added that when Newell went public recently complaining about not getting many bookings after her WWE release (where she wrestled as Tegan Nox), many people within AEW went to bat for her. There were also people who know and like Alize and Newell who felt that they could have handled things in a better and different way.

Alize, who was said to be the more vocal of the two backstage, in going against their booking, tweeted "We have SOOOOOOOO much to say ……………" while Newell hasn't posted anything but re-posted Alize's post and has been re-posting other posts by fans in support of the team.
