-- Former WWE Women's Champion Alexa Bliss is back, returning at the Royal Rumble after a two-year layoff and getting arguably the biggest pop of the night.
-- It was reported last month that Bliss was healthy and ready to come back but all creative for her return was yanked after she and WWE were at odds over a new contract to supersede her existing one. She wanted a more lucrative contract while WWE expected her to honor her existing agreement especially since they were paying her while she was away. When Bliss returned at the Rumble, it was unclear whether she got the new deal she was after or whether her reps backed down. According to a new report from fightfulselect.com, it was the former - Bliss has a shiny new contract.
-- The report notes that WWE and Bliss have ironed out and agreed to a new five-year deal that presumably will replace her old agreement. The deal was reportedly signed only on Saturday which is when she was flown into Indianapolis in order to compete in the Royal Rumble. Due to the last minute change in plans, Bliss took the spot of Shotzi and because of that, talent that was competing in the match were completely unaware that she was coming back until Saturday afternoon. WWE also immediately released new merchandise for her - something that they had already prepared for weeks ago when she was originally supposed to be back - and it sold extremely well at the event.
