Ric Flair Reveals When He Was Supposed To Make His Original WWE Debut

"The Nature Boy" and "Macho Man" almost locked horns inside the squared circle for WWE way back in 1988.

During a recent appearance on the Wrestling Inc. Daily podcast, WWE Hall Of Fame legend Ric Flair spoke about nearly being brought in to WWE back in 1988 for a program with "Macho Man" Randy Savage.

Featured below is an excerpt from the popular pro wrestling program where "'Naitch" touches on this particular topic.

"No. I just talked to Vince [McMahon]. They wanted me to come and wrestle Randy Savage, but I was just too loyal to the NWA. When you’ve been the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, how do you just skip out? Everything is a work in pro wrestling except when you are the NWA Champion. And it should be that way for anybody."
