On his transition from UFC to wrestling

My transition from MMA to wrestling, my physical transition was easy. I was fighting, suplexing, kicking… that part was pretty easy the hardest part for me was working in front of live crowd, entertaining people and connecting with people. In MMA I don’t have to connect with anybody, I just have to punch people in the face and stay focus on the match while here not only I have to stay focus on the match but I have to be focus on entertaining people and connect with them and make them feel something.

The transition was pretty smooth as I was always a fan of pro wrestling and this is something I loved and something I always wanted to do, when I saw the opportunity I took it.

Differences between NXT, SmackDown and Raw

From the beginning you start training, you go to the indies and work your way up and eventually you make it to NXT. NXT is probably one of the most professional places I’ve ever work and there was so much when I was there, they got the TV deal with USA Network, is huge but I didn’t realize how the main roster was until I got there on SmackDown and it is a complete different monster, completely different machines with a lot of parts and pieces and then you go to Raw and you got 3 hours and it is even a bigger monster with… is craziness.

When you are dealing with live TV thing are going crazy, even if you plans the things not to go crazy; they get crazy sometimes because you can plan it, things happen. The big diffence for me when I was on NXT the things were a bit more planned out while on the main roster everything should be planned or there is an idea but most of the time you just shoot from the hipe and that is whythe people need to be prepare and be professional on the main roster because anything can happen and you have to be ready and professional, you have to be ready for anything anytime and Vince McMahon is right there at gorilla looking at you so it’s not like: “Oh man, I hope nobody saw that” because Vince McMahon is watching closely Bro so do your job good.

On MSK and the Dusty Cup

MSK… they are awesome. I know those guys, I wrestle them in the past and they are hard workers, they get it, they are entertaining, I mean did you see those guys eating pop corn the other day? They are very carismatic they don’t care what you think about them and they delivered so honesty I felt bad for Grizzle Young Vets because they got to the finals again and they didn’t win so tear for them but what a great start for MSK winning the Dusty Cup on their first tournament in it and I am happy for them; they are a couple of good bros.

On winning non title matches and Elimination Chamber

I seems that I can beat everybody but I haven’t been able to beat them when it counts, for the titles, for the championships and it hurt. It is all the time building up from inside but when Bobby Lashley put me into the Full Nelson my neck still hurts and I am not going to lie and tired of it, I am tired of people thinking that I can’t beat Bobby. I saw and interview the other day where Bobby said he thought I cracked his ribs and I don’t throw blanks out there, I hit people for real and Bobby Lashley is only a matter of time.

The differences between me and Bobby is that he might be bigger and strongest but I am way more durable and this sunday at Elimination Chamber maybe he is going to beat me a couple of times but if you have a look at the records I beat him twice, one by DQ and one by pin and he only beat me once. On Sunday at Elimination Chamber I am pretty sure I am taking that title from him and I walking out as US Champion and people will chant U-S-A or U-S-A BRO or BRO USA or BRUSA it doesn’t matter but they are going to chant something because I am walking out as champion and everybody is going to get it and very doubter every hater, every person… I am gonna shout them all up, there is a new stallion in town and he is driving around, I gonna show everybody what’s up!.

On his first WrestleMania

I am really excited. WrestleMania is the biggest night is the Super Bowl for football, the World Cup for soccer… is WrestleMania for wrestling the biggest night in our sport and one I hope I win this title because it is the only chance they pigeon hole me for sure in the show and once I’m there… watch out because I am not gonna let you forget about me. If I get that short amount of time at that show, at WrestleMania weekend I am gonna make sure I take full advantage of it.

I remember my first WrestleMania weekend not in WWE but on the smaller scale an the fans that came to that sure… I started building my reputation just on those shows so I know that been in that show, the main show, the biggest show of the year, my stock is going to be through the roof, like GameStop, and I can’t wait to bring back the fans and look them in the eye and connect again with them, to move forward and put all this behind us.

On his relationship with the legends during Legends Night on Raw

A lot of people think that I have heat with the legends but the majority of the legends like me. I see Ric Flair all the time he is been around now that he has this little thing with Lacey and he is one of the greates, he always give some tips and advice. Booker T always gives me an advice to put my shoes on, he doesn’t like seeing me wrestle with bare foot, he says: “Go and get boots man!” and I’m: “It’s Riddle Booker…”

Carlito was there the other day, he is a nice guy; Christian, he gave me some tips he said: “Keep been a stallion” and I say “You too”. Edge is there all the time now, he is pretty legendary, he is cool. But do you know who was the best legend that was there? GILLBERG!! The guy is one of the nicest persons that I’ve ever met. He wrestled, he’s been there, he’s been up, he’s been down… he was a pleasure, he gave great advices to everybody in the lockerroom and told stories about the past so he was a true treat.

On a possible match with Edge

Edge is one of my dream matches. I mentioned him already on my dream scenario for a Tag Match. He is so good and bring the presence. It is the same with Randy Orton. Randy is so good, so big, so athletic and such a household name. He is a dream match like AJ Styles, especially with this new giant, he is a dream match. So if you can be in a program with them or get in a rivalry with them certainly is a career making.

On Undertaker’s comment of the actual product being “soft”

I would say to the Undertaker and everybody else, times has changed, the human race and everyone is evolving and yes we don’t carry knives and guns to work because we have metal detectors to keep us safe so people don’t do that; we have a wellness policy where we are all getting tested regularly so we are safe and on our right state of mind.

I love my job, I show up to work and… I am a former professional UFC fighter that broke people’s jaws on a steel cage something that wasn´t around when he was a young man and I bet if it was he still wasn’t step up because it takes a different breath, so that’s that and he shouldn’t say certain things abotu the upcoming roster because we are real savages not pretend ones so he should watch out.

But I still respect him, I think just a little over sell us and I don’t think he wanted to be mean I just think he thought his time was tougher and I would say this, when he worked times weren’t tougher they weren’t smart either and they were dummer, they abused certain things, they abused their bodies and they are all paying the price for it. Today’s wrestler were are smarter, who work smarter and if they think the took more bumps, we don’t work the same schedule you were working and you can’t say we are softer for that were more smater and educated like the modern day athlete and we are not getting hurt that much, we trainning smart, we eat healthier and we do things better because people in the past made so many mistakes that we lernt from them and now we don’t make those same mistakes anymore.

So Undertaker say we are soft, I don’t think we are soft, I think we are more intelligent so we don’t get hurt and don’t put ourselves in stupid situations like bringing guns to work, so Undertaker, nothing but respect but at the end of the day respect and understand evolution regarless if it comes with man of it comes with educated in the lockerroom and realize we have evolve we are better educated and we don’t do certain things anymore, we do things right.

On a match with Parker Boudreaux instead of Brock

It seems more realistic to get a match with Parker. I’ve seen Parker, talked to Parker and the conversation it went a lot better that it did with Brock. Parker is like a young kid, he is hungry, he wants to sink his teeth into this and he is making the right moves in the sense he is presenting himself to the world properly and he seems hungry, he seems that he is trying to learn as fast as he can so he can be a part of the show as soon as he can and if you are hungry and you can bring something different to the table you are going to be somebody in this sport and I think he brings all that so you never know, only time will tell but right now I think that Parker guy, that Boudreaux guy… I don’t know if that’s the name he’s going to stick with or whatever because I think he called himself “The Destroyer of Gods”, I don’t know if that’s gonna make it and pass the writing team, you never knows.

The guy looks phenomenal he has a great present and only time will tell but I think he is going to be “The Next Big Thing”.
