Riddle's Contract Expiring Soon; WWE Trying to Lock Him Down in New Multi-Year Deal

-- Matt Riddle's WWE contract is set to expire this coming August and the company is negotiating with him on a new multi-year deal, it was reported in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The belief is that the two sides have pretty much agreed on a new three-year contract that will pay Riddle $1.2 million. That would guarantee him a base annual salary of $400,000 and he would also get an additional $50,000 for each event in Saudi Arabia that he ends up working.

-- The backstage feeling on Riddle as far as Vince McMahon goes is that McMahon doesn't understand the "Bro" gimmick but finds that the vignettes that Riddle is doing "hilarious", however, a comedy direction is not all that promising for his main event aspirations and the Observer likens it to a position similar to R-Truth.
