It looks like the WWE and NXT Universe has seen the last of Ridge Holland.
The WWE Superstar who joined the company back in 2018 and spent a couple of years in NXT before graduating to the WWE main roster in 2021 as part of The Brawling Brutes alongside Sheamus and Butch (Pete Dunne).
After returning to the WWE NXT brand back in December of 2023, Holland has lost a few television matches in recent weeks, most recently coming up short to Shawn Spears on last week's episode of WWE NXT on the USA Network.
Heading into this week's WWE NXT show, Holland was advertised in a segment that claimed he would "Address the NXT Universe."
During the second hour of the 3/26 episode of the weekly two-hour NXT on USA program, a somber Holland thanked the NXT executive staff for giving him this time to say some things he needs to say. He spoke about how over the past two days he's had two difficult conversations with his family and himself, six inches from the mirror.
Holland stressed not being able to be the father and husband he needs to be as of late and announced that he has made a decision. One that is best for he and his own mental health, as well as the best future for his family. He then officially announced he is "stepping away from in-ring competition, indefinitely."
The segment ended with Holland thanking everyone in WWE and NXT, as well the fans. He set the microphone down in the middle of the ring as fans chanted "Thank you, Ridge! Thank you, Ridge!" as the segment came to an end.
