WWE Senior Vice President of Live Events and pro wrestling legend Road Dogg took to an episode of his "Oh… You Didn’t Know?" podcast, where he talked about a number of topics such as who came up with the idea to start having a Women’s Royal Rumble Match.
Road Dogg said:
“I don't think it was one person. I thought it was a collaborative decision. I really don't know who the first person to ever think of it was. You'd have to go back pretty far, but it was time and everybody knew it. The point is equality in every way. It should have been happening years ago.”
Road Dogg also talked about how he didn't know anything about Shinsuke Nakamura when he first came to the WWE, but saw how incredible he was when Nakamura and Sami Zayn worked in NXT together.
Road Dogg said:
“I'll be honest with you. I'm not a huge fan of Japanese wrestling. I just haven't been and I haven't followed it, so I didn't know of Nakamura. I've heard his name, but I didn't know anything about him. So when he got over here, I'm thinking, okay, Shinsuke Nakamura. When I saw him and Sami Zayn work in NXT, it hit me like a ton of bricks. That's what everybody's talking about. That right there, and yeah, he was incredible.”
Road Dogg then spoke about his thoughts on former WWE Star Heath Slater.
Road Dogg said:
“He's great. He's always great. I put the titles on him and Rhino when I first took over SmackDown. They were the first tag champs. I love Heath. He's a great guy. He's funny. He can work. He's still doing good stuff, just not in our company.”
