The Rock Reflects On Mick Foley Winning WWE Title From Him On 23-Year Anniversary Of Classic Raw Match

The Rock loved the night that Mankind won the WWE Championship for the first time.

On Friday, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson took to social media to comment on the 23-year anniversary of Mick Foley capturing his first WWE Championship by defeating "The Great One" in a taped match that aired on WWE Monday Night Raw back in 1999.

"Love this," The Rock started in his response to a tweet from a fan pointing out the anniversary of the classic match. "This was one of the loudest crowd eruptions I've ever experienced in my career in the wild world of pro wrestling. The fans JUST KNEW!"

He continued, "And my buddy Steve Austin knew how to swing a steel chair just right to not split my head open."

Johnson concluded his message by writing, "What a night. #MiVidaLoca."
