In the main event of Saturday's 2026 WWE Backlash premium live event (PLE), "The OTC" Roman Reigns successfully defended his World Heavyweight Championship against "The Samoan Werewolf" Jacob Fatu. Throughout the match, Fatu attempted to choke Reigns with the Tongan Death Grip, but Reigns managed to escape each time. Ultimately, he secured his victory by exposing one of the top turnbuckles and then smashing Fatu’s head against it before delivering a decisive spear.
However, Fatu was not finished with Reigns after the match. Immediately following the main event, he applied the Tongan Death Grip again, choking Reigns out. Fatu also attacked several officials, including match referee and RAW General Manager Adam Pearce, before standing tall over Reigns, holding the championship title firmly in his grasp.
After the show went off the air, Cathy Kelley asked Reigns for his thoughts on what had just occurred. Reigns responded that what had happened is precisely why Fatu should never have been allowed to join WWE, declaring it would be Fatu’s last night here.
This is what Roman Reigns said, “This is why we should have never let Jacob in this company. You don’t belong here, Jacob. There is no order with you. This is your last night here.”
As previously reported, Reigns is scheduled to attend tonight's episode of WWE RAW.
