Roman Reigns Hints That His WWE In-Ring Career Will Not Be Too Much Longer

Roman Reigns’ time as an in-ring WWE competitor may be winding down.

In a feature published Thursday by Vanity Fair, it was revealed that Reigns has just one year remaining on his current WWE contract, which is set to expire after WrestleMania 42 in 2026. While he plans to remain with the company in some capacity, Reigns acknowledged that his days inside the ring are numbered.

“After I finish the contract that I’m in, we probably got another year or two max,” he said. “Then it’s time to take on a less physical form of entertainment.”

That next chapter likely involves a deeper dive into Hollywood. According to Vanity Fair, Reigns frequently receives acting offers but turns down most roles due to his WWE commitments. When the time is right, he wants to be strategic about which projects he takes on.

“I almost want to model it after [Quentin] Tarantino,” Reigns said. “Where we’re not just doing anything and everything. I want to really plot out: I want this one, I want that one.”

Reigns made his film debut in 2019’s Hobbs & Shaw, alongside cousin Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. He’s also slated to appear in the upcoming heist-comedy The Pickup, starring Eddie Murphy and Keke Palmer. Director Tim Story praised Reigns’ on-screen presence, saying, “He probably shows as much charisma that I’ve ever seen from a celebrity or nonactor. I think his future in front of the camera will be ridiculous.”

Before that transition begins in earnest, Reigns still has major moments ahead in WWE. This Saturday, he headlines night one of WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas in a triple threat match against CM Punk and Seth Rollins—marking his fifth consecutive year headlining wrestling’s biggest event.
