Former multi-time WWE Women's champion Ronda Rousey has been in the news lately, first making comments suggesting that her wrestling career is over and now criticizing WWE's creative decision to have her first feud against Alexa Bliss, which led to Rousey winning the Raw Women's title in 2018 at SummerSlam.
Speaking on the Lapsed Fan podcast, Rousey didn't agree with the feud as she was coming in as a former MMA fighter while Bliss was physically smaller than her, while also noting that WWE chose Bliss as her opponent due to her merchandise sales.
"The fact that they had me fighting Alexa Bliss at all was f*cking ridiculous. And you want to know why they had me against Alexa Bliss? Because she had the most merch sales at the time, on that side. Like, what the f*ck? Like, that’s your decision making process?"
Rousey's comments caught the attention of AEW superstar MJF who responded on X that with a sarcastic reply, suggesting that WWE is a business and they plan their matches to sell the most tickets and make the most money.
It’s almost like pro wrestling much like any professional sport functions as a business.
Fucking crazy 🤯 https://t.co/KLHuQd70n1— Maxwell Jacob Friedman™️ (@The_MJF) September 4, 2025
While not directly responding to Rousey's comments, WWE's Alexa Bliss seemed to reference the comments with a simple sentence:
I love our business 🖤
