What do some of the wrestlers from AEW think of the ongoing situation in Russia and Ukraine?
In case you were wondering the answer to that incredibly specific question, one highly-ranked contender in the current women's division in All Elite Wrestling surfaced on social media today with her thoughts on exactly that.
"Legit" Leyla Hirsch, who just came up short in a title eliminator bout against Thunder Rosa on this week's post-Revolution edition of AEW Dynamite on TBS, took to her Twitter page to comment on the Russia-Ukraine situation.
Hirsch, who was born in Russia, released the following statement on Thursday afternoon weighing in with her thoughts on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict:
“I want to make something very clear. I stand with Ukraine one hundred percent and my heart breaks for its citizens who are suffering at the hands of Vladimir Putin. I was born in Russia. I came to the US at eight years of age and became an American citizen. I cannot change my heritage any more than any other citizen can change theirs. The mere fact that I was born in Russia does not mean that I support this brutal dictator. Everyone who would even suggest such a thing is simply wrong, plain and simple.”
