WRESTLING WITH FRIENDS (FLASH WEBSTER MORGAN): SAM ROBERTS 06/03/20

Roberts on how he got started in WWE: "I got a call from Michael Cole. He said we are thinking about doing something different. We want to get some people on the kick off show that are outside of WWE from the broadcast world. Is this something you want to do? I said yes, of course. He said we are going to do it and it will be a one off to see how you do. I went up to Stamford and did a mock show to get a feel for what it was. In December of 2016, I think, I did the kick off show for Road Block End Of The Line. I couldn't believe I was there. I went on and did my thing. It was great. They kept calling me and it went from there."

Roberts on how he met Michael Cole: "I had become friends with Josh Matthews. He worked for WWE for a long time. I think we followed each other on Twitter and he knew I was on the radio and I knew he worked in wrestling. We started chatting about interests we both had and possibilities that this one wanted to do this, that one wanted to do that. We met up a couple times. We were close the whole time he was living in Stamford before he moved to Nashville. I went on a road trip with him at one point when they were doing a PPV in Boston. I went up to Boston and hung out with him. He was hanging out with Michael Cole and he introduced us. I think that's where I met Cole for the first time, and again this was years ago."
