"The Spanish God" has come a long way from working matches on "The Buy-In" pre-show for AEW pay-per-view events.
Sammy Guevara spoke on the latest installment of his popular YouTube video blog series about having the opportunity to headline the upcoming AEW Double Or Nothing 2023 premium live event in the Four Pillars match for the AEW Championship, which includes current title-holder MJF, as well as Darby Allin and "Jungle Boy" Jack Perry.
“The main event of Double or Nothing is official, Fatal Four-Way for the world title, myself versus MJF versus Jungle Boy versus Darby," Guevara stated during episode 409 of his vlog, dubbed, "MJF is NOT my friend."
He continued, "I’m excited. This is definitely one of the biggest matches for me. I went from the Buy-In with Kip Sabian four, almost five years ago. Now here we are, gonna be in the main event for the world title of AEW. I just want to thank everybody who got me to this point. If you support these videos, if you supported me by getting my merch when I was on the indies and I really needed the money, thank you. If you support the vlog now and you leave comments, you’ve shared the video, liked the video, any way you support me, whether it be monetarily or just hitting a like on a video, it all goes a long way."
From there, he went on to announce that the vlog series will be going on hiatus, as he is prepared to give 100-percent of his focus and attention to getting ready for what will be the biggest match of his pro wrestling career.
"With that said, I want to make sure I give this match 100% of my focus, so we are gonna be stopping the vlog for a couple weeks," the J.A.S. member stated. "We’re just three weeks away from the pay-per-view and the first video back will be the Double or Nothing vlog. I want to put 100% of my focus in the gym, in the ring, and do everything in my power to add another belt [to my wall]."
