Samoa Joe Not Expected to be Sidelined Long; More on Backstage Feeling at NXT Today

-- It was announced earlier this week that Samoa Joe will be vacating the NXT title after it was revealed that he is dealing with some injuries. PWinsider.com reports that Joe is not expected out of action for an extended period of time but nobody really knows when he is expected back in action. The decision to move forward by having him relinquish the title was reportedly not something that was determined by the creative team, but rather it was a legitimate health concern and the company's medical team is who made the call that Joe wouldn't be able to wrestle. As a result, the decision to strip him of the belt and crown a new champion tonight on NXT for the relaunch was considered the best options by all parties. It is unclear if Joe will be at today's show.

-- As noted before, the backstage demeanor within NXT this week and specifically today is one of uncertainty and "trepidation" - first because nobody really knows who will be running the production with Paul Levesque likely not present as well as the all the recent talent releases. The feeling among many wrestlers is that even talent who "everything they were supposed to do" ended up released leaving those who remain feeling as if they are on thin ice and that they have no control over their fate in the company even if they do great work.
