Several New Matches Made Official For WWE NXT's Heatwave Event

Several new matchups were made official during last night's Heatwave go-home show of WWE NXT for next week's NXT Heatwave special event. A segment took place between Giovanni Vinci and NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes inside of the ring, where Vinci called Hayes out to host an Open Challenge for his NXT North American Championship on next week's show. Hayes would accept Vinci's challenge and the title match was made official for Heatwave. This match was made after Vinci was ready to hit the ring and accept Hayes' challenge last week, but Nathan Frazer made his way to the ring first and would end up on the losing end.

A one-on-one match between Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez was made official as well for WWE NXT Heatwave as just one week after becoming the brand-new WWE NXT Women's Tag Team Champions, Cora Jade turned on Perez when she cost her former best friend an opportunity to become the NXT Women’s Champion.

Last night's Heatwave go-home episode of WWE NXT 2.0 also featured the “Final Accord” segment between Tony D'Angelo and Santos Escobar, which was another sitdown meeting at an outdoor amphitheater. After a back and forth between Escobar and D'Angelo, they agreed to face each other in one more match which will take place during next week's WWE NXT Heatwave, but this time the stakes have been raised.

The stipulation that has been agreed upon will see Santos Escobar leave WWE NXT for good and he won't be seen on the brand ever again if he loses the match and Tony D gets to keep Elektra Lopez, Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde in the D'Angelo Family stable, but if Tony D'Angelo loses then Lopez, Del Toro and Wilde will be free from the D'Angelo Family group and they will be back full-time with Legado del Fantasma. It was also agreed upon that the match between Escobar and D'Angelo will be contested under Street Fight rules.

WWE NXT's Heatwave special will take place next Tuesday inside the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
