In a recent interview with Adrian Hernandez on his show, "Unlikely," WWE Hall of Famer and NXT Executive President Shawn Michaels addressed various topics. He particularly discussed the unique selling point of his latest documentary, "The Heartbreak Kid: Becoming Shawn Michaels," especially considering that his legendary career has been documented multiple times throughout the years.
This is what Shawn Michaels said, “I will say, I got to see bits and pieces of this, and I was stunned by the fact that there was footage I hadn’t seen before. Gosh, you think you have been here for so long, and I feel like I’ve seen everything that they’ve shot of me, but they’ve found new footage. I’ve really got to pay more attention to when the cameras are on.”
On what sets his latest documentary apart from previous ones:
“I was asked about doing it, and I will say my first instinct was, ‘My goodness, we’ve kind of told that story.’ But what this one does that the others have not is it really picks up a lot of the work in NXT and the after years of, you know, what we would call sort of my tragic beginning. And so, this takes us from a lot of NXT footage, which is new and very different from what people have seen in the past. And as I just said, some other footage from the past that I was unaware that was out there.”
