Shawn Michaels Explains Why The Undertaker Is No Longer Part Of WWE LFG

The third season of WWE LFG premiered on Sunday, April 26th, and notably, it was the first time that WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker did not participate. In the previous two seasons, The Undertaker served as the head coach, mentoring Tyra Mae Steele and Shiloh Hill.

In December 2025, it was announced that Kevin Owens would take over The Undertaker's role in the third season. Additionally, Natalya replaced Michelle McCool.

In the first episode of WWE LFG Season Three, fellow Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels explained that The Undertaker's commitments with Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide led to his replacement by Owens. The Undertaker has recently become heavily involved with the Mexican promotion, focusing on creative direction and show bookings while also mentoring talent. During the episode, Michaels introduced a format change, stating that the show will now concentrate on helping young prospects transition to NXT TV instead of competing for a contract.

Meanwhile, Owens is excited about the opportunity to mentor young talents and re-engage with wrestling after expressing that he was "losing his mind" during his time away from the ring. Owens hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since April 2025 due to a career-threatening neck injury, which had prevented him from facing Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41.
