Shelton Benjamin Captures WWE 24/7 Championship, Ali Returns On Monday Night RAW (Video)

A new WWE 24/7 Champion was crowned on this week's edition of WWE Monday Night RAW.

During the July 20th broadcast, which featured the fallout from The Horror Show At Extreme Rules pay-per-view, Shelton Benjamin captured the WWE 24/7 Championship by pinning R-Truth in a backstage segment.

The segment saw WWE Hall Of Fame legend Ron Simmons giving some words of encouragement to Bobby Lashley and MVP, the latter of which is still in possession of the WWE United States Championship following "Apollo Crews' forfeit" at The Horror Show At Extreme Rules.

As he finished talking, R-Truth appeared and was extended an offer by MVP and Lashley to walk to the ring with them. After he turned it down, he walked right into a big shot from Benjamin, who followed up by covering him and scoring the pin fall to end Truth's 37th reign as WWE 24/7 Champion.

Benjamin was then extended the same offer from MVP and Lashley to join them as they headed down to the ring, which he happily accepted. The three then walked off to end the segment.
