"Special Edition" NXT UK Results- 12/24/20

Hello again wresting fans, and welcome back to the NXT UK recap! Tonights show is filled with seasons greetings, holiday cheer, and a message from Jinny, who has apparently decided to be The Grinch this year. Let's get down to business!

Andy Shepherd starts off the “special edition” of NXT UK, by welcoming us to the show. Andy tells us that tonight we will be taking a look back at some of the matches that show off the NXT UK brand, and we will also hear from a few of the stars on the roster. The viewers are then taken back to January 15, for a Dusty Cup Tag Team Tournament match, with “The Broserweights” Pete Dunne and Matt Riddle taking on Mark Andrew’s and Flash Morgan Webster. This is back in the pre-pandemic days, so there are fans in attendance, which kinda feels weird to see now! The longest reigning NXT UK Champion in WWE history Pete Dunne, and the “Original Bro” Matt Riddle, picked up the win, via a double team finishing move that looked absolutely devastating! This match was a high flying, technical affair, and perfectly blended the UK style of wrestling, with the main roster style we’re all way to familiar with.

After that, NXT UK Superstars Tyler Bate, Xia Brookside, and Jordan Devlin are here to wish us a merry Christmas. Devlin says in 2021, he’s going to give us the gift of him being the Cruiserweight Champion for “12 more long months”. Amale, Levi Muir, Aoife Valkyrie, Tyson T-Bone, and Flash Morgan Webster also join in to tell us happy holidays.

Up next, a video package is played, highlighting the current NXT UK Women’s Champion Jinny. “The Queen of NXT UK” has a message for the rest of the women’s division! The show then heads to an ad break.

Back from the break, the holder of The Heritage Cup A-Kid, Isla Dawn, Joseph Conners, Pretty Deadly, Piper Niven, Sam Gradwell, and Eddie Dennis are here share a few words, and pass along some holiday cheer. Dennis says the Hunt “have a gift” for Webster and Andrews.

We’re then taken to what appears to be Jinny’s house. She gives a few backhanded “inspirational” comments, and talks about how great she is. Jinny tells us she is “more ruthless than ever”, and she inspires millions around the world. Jinny calls Piper Niven “mediocre”, and talks about how 2021 will be “the year of Jinny”. She finishes by telling us merry Christmas, and wants us to know that we couldn’t possibly have as good of a Christmas as she will have, because she “lives a life of luxury”, and we don’t. Thanks Jinny!

After that, “Bomber” Dave Mastiff is here, playing the role of Santa. He goes down a Christmas wish list, from many of the NXT UK roster members, and even HHH. Mastiff says HHH wants “multi-packs of flavored water... for some reason”. Mastiff continues to go down the list, and says anyone whose been on this years naughty list is going to get some “seasons beatings”.

Once Santa, who is totally real, finishes talking, Mark Andrew’s tells everyone merry Christmas, “except the Hunt”. Ashton Smith, Aleah James, Amir Jordan, Dani Luna, Kenny Williams, and Oliver Carter also tell us a few nice things. When their finished, Andy mentions that up next, were gonna take a look back at the NXT UK Championship match between Joe Coffey and WALTER.

The show returns from another ad break, and we’re joined by Nina Samuels, who wishes everyone a merry Christmas, “except Xia Brookside”. NXT UK Tag Team Champions Gallus, along with Noam Dar, Rampage Brown, Jack Starz, Wild Boar, Sid Scala, Saxon Huxley, and Ilja Dragunov, also pitch in to spread the joy of the holidays.

When they are a finished, a video package plays, highlighting the incredible reign NXT UK Champion WALTER has had, as well as his feud with Joe Coffey. The show then heads back to January 12, 2020, for the main event of NXT UK Takeover: Blackpool 2. WALTER defeated his challenger, via submission hold, forcing Coffey to tap out. This match had ref bumps, run-ins, as well as a few other bells and whistles. These two big men displayed a hard hitting, stiff style of wrestling, and must have gone on for ages. I totally recommend checking this one out! After the match ends, Andy tells us that next weeks NXT UK will be a “special New Years Eve” edition of the show, and that’s the end of that.

Thanks for joining me here at Rajah.Com, and just in case you haven’t heard it enough now, merry Christmas everybody!! Happy holidays, and if I don’t see you before then, happy new year too!!
