Spoiler On Newly Announced Match For WWE NXT New Year’s Evil

As previously reported, WWE held its latest television tapings last night for two upcoming episodes of NXT at the Capitol Wrestling Center (WWE Performance Center) in Orlando, Florida. During these tapings, a new match was announced for NXT New Year’s Evil.

According to BodySlam.net, Thea Hail, the reigning WWE NXT Women’s North American Champion, is set to defend her title against Blake Monroe at the special event.

This announcement follows Hail's recent victory over Monroe for the NXT Women’s North American Title on last Tuesday's episode of WWE NXT. The title change was unexpected and reportedly resulted from miscommunication in the ring. WWE had to adjust its creative plans because the original storyline had Hail not winning the title, and content had already been filmed ahead of the holiday break.

NXT New Year’s Evil will take place on Tuesday, January 6th, as a special episode of NXT, airing on The CW in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally.
