-- Following Extreme Rules, WWE's next PPV is SummerSlam, tentatively scheduled for August. With all PPVs for the last several months held at the Performance Center, it was believed that WWE was pulling out all the stops to hold their second biggest PPV in front of a live audience even if it meant changing venues (likely) or pushing the event back to September. An independent report even went so far as to suggest that Vince McMahon was adamant in being the first league/promotion to hold an event in front of fans. While WWE banked on this coming to fruition within the next two months, it appears things are becoming a lot more questionable with a new report from WrestleVotes saying that two or three weeks ago, the feeling was that it was "certain" WWE would find a way to hold the PPV with an audience however as of today, it's "very much unsure" and while they don't want to, the option of having it at the Performance Center is still possible.
Recently asked for an update on SummerSlam, source said 2 or 3 weeks ago he was certain WWE would find a way to do it w/ an audience. Today, very much unsure. As badly as they don’t want the event at the PC, unfortunately that’s very much on the table. Decision not yet imminent.
