Sting Set For First-Ever Face Paint-Free Appearance At WrestleCon 2026

WrestleCon has announced that pro wrestling legend "The Icon" Sting will make his appearance at the convention during WWE SummerSlam 2026 weekend. This will be the first time he appears without his signature face paint. The event will take place in Minneapolis on Friday, July 31st, from 4 PM to 8 PM. Currently, the appearance is scheduled as a one-day exclusive event during the opening night of the convention.

For decades, Sting’s black-and-white face paint has become one of the most recognizable looks in professional wrestling. From WCW to TNA and later AEW, Sting’s character remained closely associated with the persona fans grew up watching. This changed after his farewell in 2025, although he occasionally brings the paint back for special moments, such as his recent appearance on AEW Dynamite during a tribute to Ted Turner.

Sting officially retired from active competition in 2024, concluding one of wrestling’s most iconic careers. Since then, his appearances have been more selective, making convention bookings like this one stand out even more.
