According to PWInsider.com, ECW legend Taz is set to be inducted into the Hardcore Hall of Fame at the 2300 Arena this weekend. The report also mentioned that after last night’s AEW Dynamite went off the air, most of the roster emerged wearing Team Taz Dojo shirts while KISS’s “War Machine” played in the background, as Taz's ECW theme was a riff on that song.
Taz’s wife and son, HOOK, then came out, and AEW President and CEO Tony Khan expressed that he couldn’t think of a better way to conclude the first night of their residency at the 2300 Arena than by paying homage to Taz. Khan described Taz as the greatest legend in the history of the venue. Taz humorously remarked that he had been worked by his wife and son, joking that this wasn’t the first time he had been worked in that arena. He thanked AEW and the fans before discussing how AEW embodies a fighting spirit similar to ECW's, but on a larger scale and with more resources. Khan further announced that Taz would be honored with a banner raised in the building during the AEW Collision taping.
Taz is the 26th inductee into the Hardcore Hall of Fame at the 2300 Arena, joining notable figures such as Terry Funk, Sabu, The Public Enemy, Tod Gordon, The Sandman, Shane Douglas, The Pitbulls, Chris Candido, Eddie Gilbert, Tommy Dreamer, The Blue Meanie, Jerry Lynn, Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko, 2 Cold Scorpio, Rob Van Dam, The Dudley Boyz, Road Warrior Hawk, the ECW Arena fans, and Charlie Bruzesse.
