Tessa Blanchard On Slammiversary Match With Sami Callihan: "Felt Like We Did Something Important"

Former Knockouts champion Tessa Blanchard was a recent guest on Busted Open Radio to talk about her intergender matchup with Sami Callihan at last Sunday's IMPACT Slammiversary.. Following a losing effort, Blanchard admits to being completely overcome with emotion as the Dallas crowd gave the third-generation superstar a standing ovation.

I feel, honestly, like I was lost in the match and at the end, I was overcome with emotion. Even when I came to the back, emotion just came over me. It felt like we did something important.

Blanchard later discussed her time training with former WWE cruiserweight champion Cedric Alexander, and how it's helped her grow as an aggressive performer for her future intergender showdowns.

I trained with Cedric Alexander. I was in there with the guys seven days a week. Now to go out there and have matches regularly with the guys, I feel like it’s taken my level of intensity, aggression, timing, transitions, everything has been elevated because of that. I’m a huge proponent of it and I think there’s a way to do it.
