All Elite Wrestling and NJPW recently held their Forbidden Door Event, which was headlined by Interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley defeating "The Ace Of NJPW" Hiroshi Tanahashi to become the Interim AEW World Champion. The show would turn out to be a huge success, but a number of top names didn't appear on the joint AEW and NJPW Forbidden Door Event.
One of those names is top NJPW Star Tetsuya Naito, who revealed on his NJPW Diary that he wasn't even invited to compete on the show and be a part of Forbidden Door. Naito also said that he is “genuinely upset about” it and because of that frustration he didn't even watch any footage from the show.
Tetsuya Naito said:
“Unfortunately I was not invited to the “AEW x NJPW” show that is being talked about all over the place. Not invited = not needed. Right? Because of that frustration, I haven’t watched any footage of this show. I’m genuinely upset about it.”
Shingo Takagi was the only Los Ingobernables de Japon member to compete at Forbidden Door as he would team with Darby Allin and Sting to face AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks and El Phantasmo in Trios action. There's no word yet on if this is just an angle or a setup for Naito to be a part of Forbidden Door II, but updates will be provided once it has been made available.
