Title Match, Ladder Match Participants & Singles Bout Added To NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver

You can officially pencil in a couple of additional matches for the upcoming NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver special event scheduled for WrestleMania 38 Weekend.

Following this week's edition of NXT 2.0 on the USA Network, the second-to-last show before the WrestleMania 38 Weekend premium event, the NXT Women's Championship match for the show was announced, two more competitors qualified for the NXT North American Championship Ladder Match, and a featured one-on-one non-title match was made official for the show.

Gunther defeated Duke Hudson on NXT 2.0 this past Tuesday night and afterwards referred to himself as "The Most Dominant Competitor in NXT," but claimed he is still being overlooked while guys like LA Knight are able to talk themselves into championship opportunities.

He said Knight is a perfect example of what is wrong with the sport today, leading to a war-of-words between himself and Knight, who came out to respond to the comments from the rising NXT star.

Ultimately, Knight attempted to attack Gunther, but Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel helped Gunther gain the upper-hand. MSK would join in on the action on behalf of Knight, leading to Knight and MSK clearing the ring.

After this, WWE confirmed Gunther vs. LA Knight in a featured one-on-one bout at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver.

In addition to this update to the card, Grayson Waller and Solo Sikoa qualified for the scheduled ladder match on the show, which will feature the NXT North American Championship up-for-grabs.

Waller scored a victory over A-Kid to earn his spot in the match, while Sikoa bested Roderick Strong to solidify his spot in the five-man title bout at the NXT TakeOver event.

Finally, the team of Io Shirai and Kay Lee Ray emerged victorious in the 2022 NXT Women's Dusty Rhodes Tag-Team Classic Tournament. The duo defeated Wendy Choo & Dakota Kai in the tourney finals on Tuesday night's NXT 2.0 show.

With their win, Shirai and Ray announced that they would be passing on their guaranteed NXT Women's Tag-Team Championship match, instead opting to both declare themselves as title challengers in a triple-threat match against NXT Women's Champion Mandy Rose at the Stand & Deliver show.

NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver 2022 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 2 from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The show will stream live via the WWE Network on Peacock during the afternoon hours on 4/2 due to WrestleMania 38: Night 1 taking place later that evening.
