TKO's Mark Shapiro Says WWE Could Possibly Expand Other Premium Live Events To Two Nights

WWE is considering expanding other premium live events across two nights.

This was the topic discussed by TKO CEO Mark Shapiro during his speech at the UBS Global Media & Communications Conference. UBS Global Media & Communications Conference. At one point, Shapiro was asked about WWE PLE's, aside from WrestleMania and SummerSlam, moving to the two night format. This was his response:

"Definitely opportunities for that. It's all a progression, a natural evolution. WrestleMania was a big hit for us to expand. As you look at all these PLEs, depending the partner, I think there is absolutely an opportunity to advance some of them to two days. We're in a good place with our storylines. The way it weaves through is WrestleMania is the culmination and then a new season begins. You use Raw, SmackDown, Saturday Night's Main Event, the PLEs to all weave a long form story around multiple storylines and characters driving that discussion and narrative. It also gives us the opportunity to launch new names and bring back names."

WWE has been running its WrestleMania event over two nights ever since 2020, breaking up a show that had at some points lasted over 7 hours to two less than four hours per night. While many in the WWE Universe enjoyed that change, which will also begin to happen at the SummerSlam PLE in 2025, it will be interesting to see whether fans want that for B-level shows.
