TNA Wrestling has pulled at least one wrestler from the upcoming Maple Leaf Wrestling Multiverse show scheduled for WrestleMania 42 weekend.
Both Fightful Select and PWInsider Elite report that TNA has pulled its champion Moose from the show after initially giving him the green-light to compete. One report stated that TNA believed it was a scheduling issue while another indicated that it was a likely situation where TNA did not want Moose competing against AEW wrestlers.
Fightful reported that there is a growing fear that both Leon Slater and Nic Nemeth will be pulled from other upcoming planned matches where they are scheduled to compete with AEW wrestlers as Slater is set to face Ricochet and Nemeth would be taking on MJF. The report stated that the situation is escalating quickly to an environment where TNA talent would not be cleared to compete with AEW talent anywhere.
The report added that TNA President Carlos Silva was initially okay with TNA working at the MLP event but was not happy that AEW ran Collision against TNA Impact last week and thus changed his mind even though the decision to air Collision was a WBD call rather than AEW's.
The PWInsider report suggested that another reason TNA is getting second thoughts about letting their wrestlers compete with talent from opposing promotions is when there is a possibility that the event could be streamed live or taped for future releases. Their fear is TNA wrestlers could be positioned in a negative way or bad light or losing on rival programming. They speculated that the concern could have been brought forward by AMC now that they are airing Impact on Thursday or even coming from TNA's strategic partner, WWE.
