The boss man at All Elite Wrestling -- AEW President and CEO Tony Khan -- took to social media to deliver a message to the fans of the promotion following the ratings success of the special one-year "Anniversary Edition" of AEW Dynamite this past Wednesday night.
After the 1/8 episode of AEW Dynamite at Landers Center in Southaven, Mississippi, which featured the advertised "Tribute to Memphis Wrestling Legends," the ratings and viewership brought with it great optimism for the New Year of 2020.
"Thanks to all who made last night’s AEW one-year anniversary episode of Dynamite a ratings success," wrote Khan via his official Twitter page on Thursday. "For all of us to keep succeeding, AEW will listen to our fans."
Khan would go on to elaborate a bit, promising the AEW fans that he hears them loud-and-clear, and will not ignore the demand from the masses.
"I hear your feedback [and] won’t ignore what you want to see from AEW every week," he continued. "Thank you from the bottom of my heart!"
As noted, AEW Dynamite significantly out-drew WWE's NXT On USA show in their first actual live, head-to-head showdown of 2020, as the first week of the New Year saw WWE run a "2019 NXT Year-End Awards" / "Best Of" highlights / compilation show against AEW Dynamite's "Homecoming Edition" at Daily's Place in Jacksonville, Florida.
The 1/8 episode of AEW Dynamite finished with 947,000 viewers, while the NXT On USA show finished with an average of 721,000 viewers for the first real black-and-gold show of 2020.
