Tony Khan Discusses Timeline of Signing Christian Cage; Claims Christian Reached Out to Him

-- Following last night's AEW Revolution PPV, President Tony Khan spoke about the signing of Christian Cage, who was very recently in WWE at the Royal Rumble. According to Khan, he first met Christian seven years ago and they have been friends for a "long time" and while he likes him as a person, he was a huge fan of his as a wrestler. Khan even called him "one of the greatest wrestlers in the last couple of decades" ad obviously a Hall of Fame calibre talent. He also praised Christian's wrestling mind and looked forward to him working with some of the younger wrestlers in AEW, noting that he is not a selfish wrestler and is always looking to share his knowledge of the business.

-- Khan stated that Christian is still in great physical shape and when he saw him at the WWE Royal Rumble, he was kicking himself for not contacting him about joining AEW as he was not aware that he was not under a WWE contract. However, when his return generated interest, Christian actually reached out to Khan himself about signing with AEW as he was looking to wrestle on a consistent basis, something that WWE was not presumably interested in.
