Tony Khan Was Initially Optimistic About Working With WWE After Vince McMahon Resignation

-- During today's conference call with media prior to this weekend's AEW All Out, Tony Khan fielded multiple questions. One interesting one that was asked of him was whether there was any possibility of a collaboration with WWE in a "Forbidden Door" type event now that his rivals have undergone a major change in leadership.

-- Khan said that he was "pretty optimistic when they first made the change" but that he is now less optimistic "given how they've treated me" without elaborating specifically on what that exactly meant. However, it would appear to be that he is referring to the report of WWE reaching out and making contact with talent under contract to AEW, making it akin to tampering in any other major professional sport. Evidently, it was a serious enough issue that Khan had to address it in a talent meeting late last month while instructing the company's Chief Legal Officer to email WWE co-CEOs Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan.
