Tony Schiavone Comments On Passing Of Jim Crockett Jr: "He Made Me What I Am Today"

Tony Schiavone took to social media on Thursday to pay homage to a fallen legend in the pro wrestling business.

As noted, the news surfaced shortly after Wednesday night's AEW Dynamite on TNT show went off the air that former longtime pro wrestling promoter Jim Crockett Jr. of National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) and Mid-Atlantic Wrestling fame passed away at age 76.

Schiavone chimed in via his official Twitter account this afternoon to post a statement in honor of Crockett Jr., whom he credits all of the success in his professional life to.

"Today my heart breaks with the passing of Jim Crockett," wrote Schiavone. "Everything I have become, professionally is because of him and his family."

The AEW commentator added, "His sister, Frances, hired me to do baseball in 1982, a year later, Jimmy decided to give me a shot at wrestling. He made me what I am today."
