During last night's episode of AEW Dynamite, Excalibur announced on commentary, as reported by WrestlePurists, that Samoa Joe is out of action due to a non-contact injury he sustained while training. He is currently not medically cleared to compete. There has been no further clarification on the nature or severity of Joe’s injury, and he has yet to comment on the situation.
Joe has been focused on regaining the AEW World Championship, which he lost at Worlds End last December in a four-way match against MJF, Hangman Page, and Swerve Strickland. MJF emerged victorious in that match, becoming the new champion. Joe's last appearance in an AEW ring was on the January 12th episode of Dynamite, where he defeated Mike Bailey in singles action.
There is no update yet on when Joe will return to the ring, but further information will be provided as it becomes available.
