This past May 13, pro wrestling legend and top AEW Star Sting filed to trademark the term “Icon” with the USPTO (the United States Patent and Trademark Office) for energy drinks purposes. The term "Icon" is Sting's signature moniker and the trademark was filed through Attorney Michael E. Dockins, who has helped several AEW wrestlers file their trademarks in the past as well. The trademark was filed under Sting’s real name Steve Borden.
Sting last competed for AEW on the March 28th episode of AEW Dynamite when he teamed with Darby Allin and The Hardys (Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy) to defeat A.F.O.'s Isiah Kassidy, Marq Quen, The Blade and The Butcher in an 8-Man Tornado Tag Team Match.
Below is the use description submitted to the USPTO:
“G & S: Energy drinks; Energy drinks containing caffeine; Energy drinks enhanced with vitamins, minerals, or nutrients; Non-alcoholic drinks, namely, energy shots.”
