Top WWE And NXT Stars Crowned New AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions At Alianzas

AAA hosted its Day of the Dead-themed Alianzas taping last Sunday, where WWE SmackDown star Chelsea Green teamed up with top NXT star "All Ego" Ethan Page to challenge Mr. Iguana and La Hiedra for the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship. Green and Page ultimately defeated Iguana and Hiedra to become the new AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions.

After the match, Hiedra argued with Iguana and slapped him before walking away. Lola Vice, who was on commentary, approached Iguana to offer comfort as he reacted dramatically. Green and Page initially allied with each other during the August 5 episode of WWE NXT. They teamed up for a mixed tag team match at NXT Heatwave against Tavion Heights and Tyra Mae Steele, emerging victorious from that encounter.

Hiedra and Iguana's reign as champions ended at 330 days. They had won the titles at Cierre De La Gira Origenes in December of last year but had rarely defended them. This victory marks Green and Page’s first reign as AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions. Page is also the current NXT North American Champion, while Green is a former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion and a former Women’s United States Champion.
