Top WWE NXT Star Leaves The Brand During Last Night's Show

Top WWE NXT Star Roderick Strong was featured in a backstage segment during last night's NXT that saw Strong and his wife, Marina Shafir, enter the WWE Performance Center. Strong then met the NXT General Manager William Regal in his office and handed over an envelope of papers, which seems to be Roderick Strong's notice, and then he said that he was “done” in NXT.

The NXT General Manager then said that Roderick Strong did give him trouble at times, especially when he was still with The Undisputed ERA, but Regal said that Strong is a consummate professional, and is welcome to return to NXT at anytime. WWE then later revealed that Strong has officially resigned from the NXT brand.

Prior to last night's NXT, Roderick Strong was involved in a storyline with his former Undisputed ERA stablemates. During last week's NXT episode, Strong lost a Singles Match to Cameron Grimes and he was scheduled to compete in the Battle Royal to determine the competitors in the Gauntlet Eliminator bout at TakeOver, but there was a backstage segment where Strong was shown leaving the venue.

During this time of the year, which is immediately after WrestleMania, WWE usually calls talents from NXT up to the main roster, but there is no word yet on if Roderick Strong will be headed to SmackDown or RAW. Strong has been with the WWE since October of 2016.
