Top WWE Superstar Asuka last appeared on WWE TV at this past July's Money in the Bank Event, when she competed in the Women’s Money In the Bank Ladder Match. It was reported sometime in August that Asuka has not been appearing on WWE TV due to the company's creative not having any storyline plans for her and that she is not injured, but The Empress of Tomorrow was quick to contradict those reports as she said the reason for her absence was “completely different” to what was said on those reports.
Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast noted that top WWE Star Asuka should be cleared by now to return to the company and that it is even possible she makes an appearance at the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event as a surprise entrant in the 30-Woman Royal Rumble Match.
Asuka took to her Twitter last September and posted a photo of herself wearing an arm brace, which is a clear confirmation that she was out of action due to an injury. The top WWE Star also revealed that she had to undergo dental surgery after being kicked in the mouth by Shayna Baszler during a tag team match on the February 22 episode of RAW. Asuka revealed that she was recovering from two injuries and she got new teeth 6 months after her match with Baszler. Asuka's return to in-ring action hasn't been confirmed yet, but updates will be provided once it has been made available.
