Triple H Comments On Ben Carter's "Star-Making Performance" In NXT UK Debut, Other WWE Personalities React

WWE gave Ben Carter the first-class media coverage treatment for his NXT UK in-ring debut against Jordan Devlin on the first episode of the company's British-themed weekly television program on the WWE Network for the New Year of 2021.

Carter made a surprise in-ring debut against Devlin after initially challenging the NXT UK Superstar to a match on next week's show, only for it to take place on the first NXT UK episode of 2021 instead.

Devlin would go on to defeat Carter, however, not before the NXT UK newcomer made a name for himself in a single showing at his very first swing at the plate in the big leagues.

The match and the losing effort put forth by Carter caught the attention of "The Godfather Of NXT," WWE executive Paul 'Triple H' Levesque, who hopped on social media to comment on what he felt was a "star-making performance" from the rookie sensation.

"A match that if you have not seen, you should go and watch on WWE Network immediately," wrote Triple H on Thursday after seeing the Carter-Devlin showdown on the January 7, 2021 episode of NXT UK. "NXT UK continues to deliver and this main event was no different featuring a star-making performance from Ben Carter ... just the beginning."

Additionally, WWE's The Bump co-host and NXT Injury Report host Matt Camp as well as Christian hip-hop artist and WWE collaborator Josiah Williams were inspired to hop on their respective Twitter pages to offer their own praise to Ben Carter for his debut performance against the proven Jordan Devlin in the NXT UK main event on Thursday.

"What an impressive NXT UK debut for Ben Carter," wrote Camp. "He'll be a champion soon enough."

Williams tweeted a more simplistic, albeit equally enthusiastic response to the Carter-Devlin match on this week's edition of NXT UK TV.

"INCREDIBLY. IMPRESSED. Ben Carter," he exclaimed.

Additionally, a post-match backstage interview with Ben Carter shortly after he came up short against Devlin on NXT UK was released via WWE's various digital channels.
