Paul "Triple H" Levesque took to social media on Friday to comment a photo, sharing a story that means a lot to him.
"The Game" re-tweeted a photo on his official Twitter feed of a match he had against Ray Apollo in the opening bout of a WWE non-televised live event at the Boston Garden in Boston, Mass. on Saturday, May 13, 1995.
The significance of the match?
It was while Triple H was still under a non-compete clause stemming from his contract with World Championship Wrestling. The current WWE legend noted that he paid for his own travel to the show, brought his father with him and all of this after begging JJ Dillon and Vince McMahon to have the opportunity in the first place.
"Was signed with WWE but still on a non compete from WCW," he recalled. "Called JJ Dillion and begged him and Vince to let me work this card and flew myself in."
He added, "Brought my dad, first time he ever saw me wrestle for a big promotion live and at Boston Garden where he watched as a kid. Night I’ll never forget!"
Check out the photo below from the official Twitter feed of Triple H via a tweet he made commenting on a fan who shared the photo and a screenshot of the official arena program from the show that particular evening back in 1995.
