Friday night was a big night for Rey Mysterio.
The WWE Hall of Fame legend became the new United States Champion after filling in for Santos Escobar to challenge Austin Theory for the title on WWE Friday Night SmackDown.
After defeating Theory to capture the U.S. title, Mysterio posted for a photo with the belt backstage with Paul "Triple H" Levesque.
Triple H shared the photo, along with a caption that read, "An all-time great who proves it every time he steps in the ring. Congratulations to the incomparable WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio."
