History was made on Saturday.
Seth "Freakin'" Rollins defeated AJ Styles in the finals of the tournament designed to crown the inaugural WWE World Heavyweight Champion for the Monday Night Raw brand.
Rollins and Styles kicked off the WWE Night Of Champions 2023 premium live event at the Jeddah SuperDome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Saturday afternoon in an excellent match, which Rollins won via pin fall to become the first-ever World Heavyweight Champion.
As seen during the broadcast, Paul "Triple H" Levesque, who introduced the title after WrestleMania, appeared in the ring to present Rollins with the new title belt.
After the match, the WWE executive took to Twitter to comment on Rollins making history on Saturday afternoon.
"History made," he wrote. "An incredible “Freakin” match to kick off an epic WWE Night Of Champions."
Triple H concluded, "Congratulations to your new World Heavyweight Champion."
