Triple H Talks Royal Rumble Returns, Vince McMahon Allegations, Netflix Deal, more

-- Following last night's Royal Rumble, WWE held a press conference where members of the media were able to ask questions of WWE CCO Paul "Triple H" Levesque. Below is a quick recap by pwinsider.com:

  • The Rumble was the largest WWE gate for any non-Wrestlemania event in company history.
  • He said he wanted to officially welcome Naomi home. He praised Liv Morgan for her performance and returning.
  • On Jordynne Grace appearing, HHH said he wanted to thank TNA for allowing her to appear. It was exciting to "branch out." He said partnerships and opportunities come along for some once in a lifetime and he was happy to have Grace here. She is a one of a kind talent.
  • On Jade Cargill, she has the aura or X-Factor. He said that she is a different performer and he's thankful she's had the time to get her "feet on the ground" and make an impact.
  • On the men's Rumble CM Punk and Cody Rhodes had an incredible showing. His hat is off to them.
  • He felt Bron Breakker had an explosive, incredible debut in the Rumble.
  • He praised Andrade's return and said it's the "right time" for him now where before it might not have been not the right time.
  • He praised Cody, saying there was no one more dedicated to the craft than Cody. He is the right human being and person. His passion and dedication is second to none and he "absolutely is the future of this for all the right reasons."
  • On his reaction to the WWE-Netflix deal, he said "Holy sh**" and wondered how it will change sports and entertainment. The whole world sees a shifting ecosystem where it comes to where people consume and view things. Lots of people are dipping their toes in the water to try things. WWE was first in closed-circuit TV, PPV, and the WWE Network. When you talk about a 10 year, $5 Billion deal, it's hard not to be excited.
  • He praised The Rock joining the Board and everything he can bring to them on a corporate level but HHH can have a short-hand conversation with him about what WWE needs in 'our language.'
  • He was asked about the Vince McMahon situation. Levesque said they had an amazing week and he chooses to focus on the positive. There is a negative but he wants to focus on the positive.
  • He was asked what was being done that people in power can't take advantage of those under them. Levesque said, "Everything possible."
  • He was asked if he's read the lawsuit. Levesque said he did not. He found out about it in real time as everyone else did. He doesn't want to get bogged down in the negative as they are in the most exciting point business-wise that the company has ever had.
